Left elbow

May 6, 1999

40-year-old Caucasian female who worked as a nurse, was diagnosed with RSD of her left elbow, status post being stuck with a needle. She was prescribed a transdermal homeopathic NSAID gel on 3-9-99. At that time her pain level was between 9 and 10 on a pain level scale of 1-10. She was applying this gel three times daily. She obtained relief within 30 minutes of applying the Gel, and this relief would last for 3-4 hours. She states, "The Gel has really helped me. It has reduced almost all the swelling and tenderness." At the present time, she rates her pain level between 1-2. She only applies the Gel once daily now, and this relief will last "all day long."

RSD
Right foot and leg-end stage
Left Leg-Stage I
June 18, 1999

34-year-old Caucasian male had an accident on the job in 1992, when a metal panel had slipped and fallen into his patella, shredding the cartilage in his right knee. Three weeks after undergoing a menisectormy, he fell off a physical therapy apparatus with the weight of his body landing on his bent knee, "tearing the ACL off the bone!" The diagnosis of RSD of the right leg and foot was made in 1994, but his physicians differed in their opinions on which injury actually caused the RSD. At that time, his pain level was at 10 (unbearable) on a Pain Assessment scale of 1-10. He has undergone three additional ACL reconstruction surgeries on that knee. His physicians ran him through a gamut of oral pain medications, Morphine pumps, and epidural blocks, but no real pain relief was achieved. On 9-21-98, his physician prescribed a transdermal analgesic/anti-inflammatory gel (Ketamine 150 mg/ml. Butesin Picrate) to be applied to the affected areas three times daily. He delightedly reported on 10-14-98, "This is the first time in five years that I have experienced any type of pain relief!" His pain level has been reduced to between 7 and 8 on a Pain Assessment scale of 1-10. Unfortunately, the RSD symptoms are now appearing in his left leg. He has just started using the gel on that leg as well.

Left Foot

June 1999

47-year-old Caucasian female had suffered a fracture of her left foot in May of 1997. Soon after, she developed RSD in that extremity. Her pain level at that time was 8 (intense) on a Pain Assessment scale of 1-10. On 3-4-98, her physician prescribed an anti-inflammatory transdermal gel, to be applied to the affected areas 3-4 times daily. Follow up phone conversation on 3-17-98 revealed that the patient is applying the gel three times daily. She states, "This gel is working wonderfully on my foot!" Her pain level has decreased to between 3 and 4 on a Pain Assessment scale of 1-10. She marvels at how she can now put a sock and shoe on that foot.
