Bilateral Feet and Ankles May 5, 1999 This 42-year-old Caucasian male, electronic parts salesman was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus in 1989. For the following three years, the patient suffered with pain in both his feet which became very severe (level 10 on a 1-10 pain scale). He states, "I couldnt even walk 200 feet." In 1996, he was referred to a pain clinic and diagnosed with bilateral diabetic neuropathy. The patient states, "I was so bad that I couldnt even have the bed sheets touch my toes without them feeling like razor blades!" He was placed on Oxycontin for his pain, which brought him welcomed relief. However, this did not relieve his pain completely (relieved to pain level 7). On 4-9-99, the patient was prescribed a 3-ingredient transdermal neuropathy formula to be applied three times a day. The patient stated that the medicine worked within 2 minutes, and his pain level dropped to 0 in conjunction with the Oxycontin. This relief would last for 8 to 12 hours. The patient states that he applies the medicine once daily (usually when he gets out of the shower in the morning) to his feet and ankles. He states, "This is the first time in 7 years that Im pain-free! This medicine has increased my flexibility, and Im not so stiff and tense." The patient was encouraged to use this neuropathy Gel two times to three times daily. Bilateral Feet May 20, 1999 58-year-old Caucasian female was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and diabetic neuropathy of bilateral feet four years ago. Her pain level was at 10 on a Pain Assessment scale of 1-10 at that time. She has used oral medications such as Tegretol and Elavil, which didnt help her at all. She also had a trial of a topical cream, which only irritated and burned. On 4-29-99, she was prescribed a diabetic neuropathy gel to be applied to her feet 3-4 times daily. Due to orthopedic problems, the patient is dependent upon her husband for the applications, and he is only able to apply the gel for her twice daily. These two applications per day are just enough for her. She states, "This has worked wonders for me! I tell everyone I come in contact with about it!" She states that she obtains relief within 15-20 minutes after applying the Gel, and this relief will last for about 8 hours. After application of the gel, her pain level will drop to 3 on a Pain Assessment scale of 1-10. Bilateral lower extremities May 6, 1999 67-year-old Caucasian male with a past history of diabetes mellitus was diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy of both lower extremities 7 years ago. On February 24, 1999, he was having severe pain (pain level between 8-10 on a pain level scale of 1-10) and his physician prescribed neuropathy gel to be applied to both lower extremities three times daily. He states that he obtains relief within a few minutes of applying the Gel, and this relief will last for 6-7 hours. He states, "Its wonderful!" At the present time, he would rate his pain level between 2 and 3 on a pain level scale of 1-10. Bilateral Feet May 26, 1999 71-year-old Caucasian female, insulin dependent diabetic, was diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy of bilateral feet in 1984. Because of severe numbness, she has sustained many injuries to her feet and toes over the years, including a fracture of her great toe. She is also bothered by a severe burning sensation in both feet. She would have rated her pain/burning sensation level at 8 (on a scale of 1-10). On 2-22-99, she was prescribed a transdermal gel (which consists of an NSAID, an analgesic, a steroid and an anesthetic). She applies this gel to both feet three times daily. She states, "The gel is helping. I have more feeling in my toes and across the balls of my feet! I am able to move and spread my toes much better now." She would rate her pain/burning sensation between 3 and 4 at the present time (on a scale of 1-10). She also reports that she is using this gel on her arthritic hip with good results.
